Update from the board

Dear members,

As the academic year is coming to an end, so is our board year. We think this is a nice time to look back at some events in the past months, and look forward to what is yet to come. It is crazy to think about how fast the time has gone, only having 2,5 months left before a new board starts. Looking back at all the things we have already done this year, I think we can look back with pride. Even though sometimes it has been tough (four events in one week turns out to be quite a lot), we have organized some amazing events which I want to tell you a little bit more about.

From Monday the 4th or March till Friday the 8th of March, we hosted the 29th edition of the Amsterdam Career Days, together with Sefa, at Hotel Casa. With over 1850 signups, we not only met but exceeded our goals. The attendance of over 85 esteemed companies has made the event to an amazing success. We are really proud to state that this year, ACD was the biggest off-campus career event of the Netherlands. The week went really well, and we have heard great feedback from both companies and students. This was all thanks to the hard work of the current ACD committee, and the help of the future committee and the boards of Aureus and Sefa.

Besides the ACD, we have hosted a new career event this year: the Bachelor Career Experience. During this day, bachelor students could get in touch with companies in a short case, to orientate themselves. Even though this was the first edition, we look back on it positively. Yet again, both happy companies and happy students.

Next to the career events we organized, we have had two amazing trips: Wintersports and EST. A week skiing in Avoriaz, and a week of visiting companies (maybe also partying quite a bit) in Lisbon; both trips have been of great success. The skiing was taken seriously in Avoriaz but not as seriously as the apres ski; at 3 p.m. sharp, everybody could be found in the La Folie Douce. EST this year had a lustrum activity during the trip; the group went to explore the beautiful city of Sintra, one of the highlights that week. The nightly visits to Lisboa Rio made it a bit hard to focus at the company visits some times, but these were really interesting as well!

One of the other highlights this year has definitely been the Aureus Gala. As it is of course our lustrum year, this was bigger than previous years, with more people attending. Not everybody remembers the Gala fully, as it was a blurry night due to the open bar. However, we danced the night away (some people stayed up until 6.30) and we enjoyed it with this big group.

And of course, we have had some amazing Lustrum activities! The former board dinner at the beginning of the year has been a success. Next to that we organized an Lustrum Aureus Beer Cantus at Il Cafe and Aureus Karting Tournament. Besides the extra events that our lustrum committee organized, we made some of the yearly events more special. Events like EST, Gala, VUSE and Bachelor Trip were or will be bigger this year. We are still looking forward to some amazing lustrum events: Aureus Wipe-out, Aureus Efteling and thé end party of the year: Club Lustrum!

In the remaining months, we are looking forward to creating some more highlights, like Bachelor Trip, Zuidas Tour and CSR Month. Besides from this, we are currently working on the Selection of the 76th board. This is a weird period; finishing up our own work but also transferring it on to the next board. We are very motivated to do this well, and hand over all of our knowledge to the next board in the right way!

Love,
75💛
