Hi there!
My name is Sebastiaan Kaandorp and I was the Innovation Officer and Secretary of the 74th Board of Aureus.
I consider my board year as the best year of my time as student, because I met so many fun and different people (many of which I still regularly see) and because I have countless memories for life. Based on this, I would encourage everyone to sign up for a board year themselves.

Hannah Moerman ● Marketing Officer & Vice-Chairwoman 2022 -2023
Hi there!
My name is Hannah Moerman. I’m 25 years old and I was the Marketing Officer and Vice-Chairman of the 74th board. Before that I was in the Introduction Committee, the Marketing Team and the Bachelorclub within Aureus. Last July I completed my Master in Business Information Management at the Erasmus University. This year I am a part of the selection committee to select the 78th board for next year!
When I was in my third year of IBA I was doubting about what to do next year, and after talking to a few old and current board members about what a board year entails, I decided to go for it! I still consider this as great decision! Because I gaines valuable skills and friends who I still see a lot!

Nikki Kuijl ● Marketing Officer & Secretary 2023-2024
Hi there!
I’m Nikki Kuijl and I was the Marketing Officer and Secretary of the 75th board. It was a really special year in which I learned a lot, worked hard, and, most importantly, had a great time with the people around me. I still look back on it with great pleasure and pride, and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.
Last year, I completed my master’s degree and lived in Spain for three months to learn Spanish and learn how to surf. I’m now back in the Netherlands and looking for a job to kick off my next chapter.

Lieke Bruijn • Chairwoman 2025-2026
Hi there!
My name is Lieke Bruijn, and I am the chairwoman of the 77th board of Aureus. Before starting my board year, I studied and played field hockey in the United States, after which I started studying International Business Administration at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. During my studies, I was active in several committees, including the Internal-, Lustrum-, and EST committee. After completing these committees, I felt ready for the next step and wanted to challenge myself further, which is why I decided to pursue a board year. As the chair, I am responsible for coordinating and leading the board, maintaining close contact with our stakeholders, and overseeing the long-term vision and strategy of the association.
Doing a board year can be considered a unique experience to gain practical experience of leading one of the largest study associations in the Netherlands. Being responsible for an association with over 6500 members will lead to many challenges and hiccups which requires creative and strategic thinking. The mix of social, career and academic events makes a day in the life of a board member never boring and challenges you to organize a diverse set of events! Furthermore, doing a board year will help develop multiple skills like managing committees, strategic thinking, planning, and organizing.
As I had to make this decision myself as well, I know it’s not always easy to figure out if a board year is the right choice for you. I can confidently say that I have no regrets. Isa Baken ● HR Officer & Secretary 2025-2026
Hi there!
My name is Isa Baken, I’m 21 years old and I’m the HR Officer and Secretary of the 77th Board of Aureus. Last year, I finished my bachelor in Business Administration after which I decided to do a board year. During my bachelor, I’ve already been part of multiple committees for Aureus which was a lot of fun, this year I wanted to give back to Aureus even more and have a lot of fun along the way!
In my role, I’m responsible for the recruitment and development of all members. Therefore, I’m also a part of the Selection Committee for the 78th Board!
