Wouter Bos

       

Wouter Bos (1963) studied Political Sciences and Economics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and graduated cum laude in 1988. After his graduation, Wouter worked 10 years for Shell. Afterwards, he fulfilled several advice- and management positions in, amongst others, Bucharest, Hong-Kong and London. In 1998, Wouter entered politics and became member of the Dutch House of Representatives for the Dutch Labour party, the Partij voor de Arbeid (PvdA). In 2002, he succeeded Willem Vermeend as State Secretary for Finance. After the major election defeat of 2002, Wouter became party leader for the PvdA. From 2007 up until 2010 he was Deputy Prime Minister in the fourth parliament of Jan-Peter Balkenende and Minister of Finance during the recession of 2008. On the 20th of February, 2010, the parliament resigned and Wouter Bos announced his withdrawal from Dutch politics. On the 1st of October, 2010, Wouter became Partner at KPMG. At KPMG, together with a colleague, he led the Public Sector department and was foremost responsible for restructuring the Dutch healthcare system. As an advisor, he was involved in strategic challenges concerning the design of the health- and hospital landscape. Amongst these were funding, sourcing and quality assurance challenges. In October 2012, Wouter left KPMG on a temporary unpaid leave and was involved as formateur in the creation of Parliament Rutte-Asscher. On the 19th of August, 2013, Wouter became chairman of the Board of Directors at VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam. In 2017, he successfully led the Dutch attempt to transfer the European Medical Agency from London to Amsterdam. In September 2017, Wouter became Vice-President of the NFU, the association in which all eight Dutch academic Medical Centers collaborate. It is intended that he will become president of the NFU during the course of 2018.

 

Ali Niknam

         

Ali Niknam (1981) is CEO and founder of bunq. He was born in Canada, raised in Iran. During his study Computer Science at TU Delft, he achieved great success as an entrepreneur with his web hosting company TransIP. In 2012 he founded bunq: an experience unlike any other. bunq deals with your money in a totally different way and redefines the current ways of doing things in the financial sector.
