About

Welcome to the Graduates Development Program 2021!

Since 2013, the Graduates Development Program has offered a group of 15 students from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam the possibility to go on a volunteering trip in developing countries to share their knowledge with local entrepreneurs. The aim of this program is to help these entrepreneurs grow their business by improving their business plans and knowledge. Thereby we have contributed to the development of local communities and long-term success of local businesses. During this program, we will work closely with a local partner to ensure continuity and to meet the demands of the local community. GDP is also an initiative aimed at providing students with an opportunity to develop their professional and personal skills. You and 14 other students will run this unique student development project. Unfortunately, last year the GDP trip was not able to take place. That is why this year, the GDP committee is working hard to find a new project that we can work on, regardless of what happens with corona. The GDP gives you the opportunity to use your academic knowledge & help communities improve their lives. The project is divided into 3 phases:
  • the acquisition phase to raise money, with the main event being the auction
  • the research phase about the project itself to guarantee the best help possible
  • the 3-week field trip where the business students put their knowledge into practice
In July, as the icing on the cake, the GDP team goes on a 3-week field trip. All participating students will work together to make a real difference. Sounds interesting? Do not miss your chance to join the Graduates Development Program!
