The TOPdesk in-house day for development gives the perfect opportunity to get a look behind the scenes at the headquarters in Delft*. What you can expect? Talks from several developers about cool topics like security and large scale software development. Also, there will be workshops to give you an impression of what it’s like to work at TOPdesk. Are you a bachelor or master student? Or a recent graduate? This afternoon is aimed at you! Don’t worry if your field of study is not related to software development or programming experience. As long as you’re interested in creating software, you’re welcome to join.

12.00 – 13.00 Lunch
Good food on the top floor of the TOPdesk office? Come to lunch! This part is optional, so please let us know if you’d like to join. Do you have any specific dietary requirements? No problem, just let us know.
13.00 – 13.15 Introduction
What role do developers play? How do we decide what to work on? And how do we tackle the (technical) challenges we encounter? Colleague Arvind, development lead, will answer all of these questions and gives an introduction into TOPdesk.
13.15 – 13.45 Large scale software development
Curious about the agile approach, CI/CD and version control at TOPdesk? Colleague Joep, build master, dives deeper into the challenges that come along with building software with a lot of people and code at the same time.
14.00 – 15.30 Scrum workshop (track 1, beginner friendly**)
Playtime! Who doesn’t like a hands-on workshop with Lego? Denise, scrum master, explains scrum and let you experience the core scrum concepts first hand.
14.00 – 15.00 Security workshop (track 2, advanced**)
Do you have some technical knowledge? Perfect. Laurent, programmer, explains several security topics and will confront you with several security issues.
15.30 – 17.00 Creative coding workshop (track 1, beginner friendly**)
Time to get creative! How cool would it be to use small programs to make actual art? Joris, scrum master, and Freek, programmer, will show you how you can be the artist you where always meant to be. You can let your creativity run free using the Processing environment!
15.00 – 17.00 Programming challenge (track 2, advanced**)
Ready for some real TOPdesk-coding? Emily and Martin, both programmers, give you programming challenges that are inspired by real TOPdesk code. Bart wraps up the session by adding his perspective as a tester.
