Pllek

Pllek is probably the trendiest place in Noord and if you’ve been living in Amsterdam for a long time you definitely know it. First of all, Pllek is a place where you can get food ranging from breakfast to dinner in a big open industrial space. On top of that, Pllek holds weekly live music and yoga classes on Sunday mornings. Not to mention that 75% of their dishes are vegetarian with lots of vegan options too. The restaurant is environmentally conscious and has carefully selected its fish and meat suppliers. There is no best place to take a drink and tapas during sunset in front of the river.

My Little Patisserie

Who doesn’t like some delicious French pastries? This small place located behind the Albert Cuypmarkt is the best spot to escape the buzzing street. Although the interior might be small with a few tables, you will be amazed by the traditional treats to find there. The French owner also holds workshops to learn how to make éclairs: chocolate glazed choux with chocolate filling. Everything is handmade, and they also serve coffee. My Little Patisserie is the tastiest place to have breakfast and begin your day on the right foot!

Scandinavian Embassy

This cute place serves breakfast and lunch but is also perfect for a coffee break in the Pijp. Enter the simplistic, yet warm coffee shop and prepare yourself to meet interesting people. At the Scandinavian Embassy, they make sure to choose the best local suppliers and take special care to coffee beans that they later freshly blend in front of you. The dishes are inspired by the cold Scandinavian cuisine mixed with coffee flavor. You can follow their journey on their Instagram page, in which they keep the customers up-to-date whenever they change suppliers and menu. Besides, they often offer workshops and coffee tasting on top of having a private dinner option!
