Hi everyone!
My name is Vivien, I’m 24, and I’m super excited to be the Chair of the 78th Board of Aureus this year! Originally, I’m from Munich, Germany, but I went to high school in England before moving to Amsterdam to study International Business Administration, specializing in HR & Change Management.
I joined Aureus in my very first year without knowing a single person. Stepping out of my comfort zone to join the Internal Committee was the best decision I ever made. Beyond the people you naturally meet during intro week or sit next to in class, Aureus completely opened up my social circle. I made close friends across entirely different study programs like EBE and BK and also from different years, finding my absolute best friends and a true family away from home.
I’ve loved every moment of staying active in Aureus, I organized Wintersports in my second year, and after coming back from an incredible exchange semester in Seoul, I joined the Bachelor Trip Committee in my third year. I love traveling and meeting new people, so you can definitely count on seeing me on every Aureus trip this year!
After finishing my Bachelor’s, I was actually considering starting a Master’s and moving away again. But honestly, I realized that Amsterdam and Aureus have truly become my home. I decided I wanted to gain some work experience, take on more responsibility, and give back to the association that made my time here so amazing, and that’s how I ended up right here doing a board year! As Chair, I’m here to guide our long-term strategy, support our team, and represent Aureus to the faculty and external partners. I’ll also be supervising a Master Club, the Alumni Committee, and the Selection Committee this year.
Outside of Aureus, I’m someone who definitely suffers from “free-time stress”, so if I have a spare second, you’ll probably find me doing sports with friends, going out for drinks, skiing in the winter, or planning a trip. I’ve also set a goal to finally learn Dutch this year!
