Lieke Bruijn • Chairman & Marketing Officer

Hi everyone! 

My name is Lieke Bruijn and for the coming year I will be the Chairwoman of the 77th board of Aureus. I am 22 years old and studying International Business Administration with a specialization in Leadership and Change Management.

In my spare time, I love to play sports, which is what led me to move to the United States after high school, where I played hockey for a university. I lived there for a year and a half, played two full seasons, and had the best time. Right now, I’m trying to get into running as I need to start training for the Dam tot Dam run, but that’s not going too great yet..

When I moved back to Amsterdam, I joined Aureus in my first year and became part of the Internal Committee. That’s where my journey at Aureus began. I joined the Lustrum Committee in my second year, which was a great experience, with a lot of fun activities! Last year, I went on exchange to Singapore, where I went to university and played for a hockey team again. After coming back, I joined the EST Committee, which I absolutely loved! The trip was a great success. 

Being part of different committees made me realize how much I enjoy being involved in Aureus. I really liked working with other students, organizing fun and meaningful events, and contributing to something beyond just my own studies. I wanted to take on a new challenge, and therefore a board year seemed like the perfect next step. I’m really looking forward to all the amazing events, new connections, and unforgettable experiences this year will bring, and I can’t wait to get started!
