Hey everyone!
My name is Giselle Bluemke and I am the Innovation Officer of the 78th Board of Aureus. I study Economics and Business Economics with a specialization in Finance. I am half German and half Brazilian, and I grew up in Singapore, which is also where my love for travelling and meeting people from different places started.
Besides studying, I have always loved playing football. I grew up playing and still play at AFC vr1. I also love spending time with friends, discovering new places and travelling whenever I get the chance.
Travelling is actually one of the main reasons I became active within Aureus. Two years ago, I joined the European Study Trip to Lisbon, where I spent a week exploring the city with a great group of people who later became close friends. The year after, I joined the EST committee myself and became more involved in Aureus.
Since then, I have joined many amazing Aureus events, including the gala, Karaminibowl, sports events and several trips, for example to Athens, Budapest, Berlin and Antwerp. After my exchange in Buenos Aires and backpacking through Colombia, coming back to Amsterdam and joining the Aureus winter sports trip was the perfect way to see everyone again.
One of the best parts of Aureus for me has not only been the events or trips themselves, but especially the people I met along the way. Many of them have become my best friends and feel like family now, which is what made my time at Aureus so special.
That is also why I am really looking forward to my board year. I cannot wait to come up with fun new ideas, organize great events, improve different parts of the association, and hopefully help others create the same kind of memories and friendships.
