What do we expect from you?
As an Intern in Portfolio Management Infrastructure, you will
take an active role in structuring, analyzing, and visualizing complex
financial data to support data-driven decision-making. This dynamic position
combines technical expertise in data science, cloud infrastructure, and data
visualization with a strong foundation in machine learning and financial
knowledge. Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, you will translate
high-level strategies into effective data tools and analytics, driving value in
publicly traded securities like stocks and bonds.
Your responsibilities include:
Data Analysis and Financial Structuring:
- Apply financial metrics (e.g., ROI, risk analysis, and asset allocation) and work with financial time-series data.
- Conduct advanced financial data analysis using tools such as SQL, Python, and R for statistical modeling, data cleaning, and large-scale dataset handling.
- Structure and model data from diverse sources, creating models to support financial decision-making and portfolio management needs.
Machine Learning and Data Science:
- Build and implement machine learning models for tasks like supervised/unsupervised learning, time-series forecasting, and anomaly detection.
- Develop predictive models with strong statistical and probabilistic foundations, ensuring accuracy through model validation and optimization.
- Manage production deployment of models, automating workflows for retraining and updates.
Azure Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps:
- Utilize Azure services like Azure Data Lake, Machine Learning, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics for data storage and processing.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, Git, and Jenkins to streamline model deployment and operational workflows.
- Enforce IT security protocols, including network security, access controls, and regulatory compliance.
Data Visualization and Business Intelligence:
- Create automated Power BI dashboards to present insights into investment portfolios and key performance metrics.
- Simplify complex technical analyses into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, driving informed decision-making.
- Establish real-time reporting structures and KPIs aligned with business objectives.
IT Governance and Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee data pipelines and ensure the scalability and reliability of infrastructure to support investment data needs.
- Implement IT governance practices focused on data lineage, compliance, and security.
- Collaborate with engineering, program managers, and business stakeholders on strategic projects.
Typical work projects:
- Automating portfolio performance visualizations using Power BI.
- Migrating data retrieval processes from Excel to Refinitiv and Bloomberg infrastructure.
- Enhancing investment models with machine learning by integrating external datasets.
- Developing a database for historical performance data to streamline strategy analysis.
Your profile as Intern Portfolio Management Infrastructure
The ideal candidate will have:
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in handling large datasets and expertise in SQL, Python, and Power BI.
