BTS • Business Analyst
15 August 2022
We exist to inspire and equip people to do the best work of their lives, creating better businesses and a better world. BTS is a global professional services firm that sits at the intersection between strategy and culture, creating powerful experiences to help leaders build the future of their businesses. We have over 800 professionals in more than 30 offices located across six continents.
The pace of change is increasing before our very eyes. In this environment, the primary barrier to success and progress for businesses is no longer technology. Rather the crucial factor is an organisation’s ability to change and this is often down to people – in their ability to learn, adapt and thrive, and for leaders to inspire and sustain their people through change. This is where BTS comes in. We focus on the people side of strategy, supporting leaders in shifting their culture, behaviours and ways of operating. We work with leaders at all levels to help them make better decisions, convert these decisions to actions and deliver results.
Our consultants typically work directly with Global Fortune CEOs, CFOs, CLOs as well as leaders at every level of the organisation. At our core, we believe people learn best by doing. For over 30 years, we’ve been designing fun, powerful experiences that build alignment and execution capability around key strategic priorities and have profound and lasting impact on people and their careers. We inspire new ways of thinking, build critical capabilities and unleash business success… Its strategy made personal.
Our organization is intentionally flat and it is not uncommon for partners and newly hired undergraduates to be working closely on accounts and projects. This is not the traditional consulting model where the senior partner takes the glory and the junior consultant does the hard work. This is a team environment where everyone can add value and is exposed to interesting and rewarding work from day one. We very much live our core principles of Fun & Adventure, Achievement & Excellence, Freedom & Responsibility.
BTSers are expected to be team players, leaders and entrepreneurs. Our organisation is intentionally flat.
What you’ll do in your role
All consultants at BTS are asked to do three things – develop client relationships, design solutions and deliver our programmes. It’s the balance that shifts as seniority grows. In the Business Analyst role, the focus is purely on design and delivery, with the intention very much being about embedding you in our work and help you grow into the business.
You’ll do this, working within a small internal team, to partner with leaders from some of the world’s leading corporations – Global 100 and 500 companies. You’ll learn how their business works and what their strategies are, and you’ll be shaping the leadership capabilities of their senior management.
Variety is key in all our roles. You’ll work on multiple projects at one time, across different industries, and with different internal teams. We’re delivering most of our work virtually at the moment, although we do see face-to-face delivery returning in the future and when it does you’ll travel approximately 25-50% of the time.
The rest of your time is spent creating the amazing experiences we provide for our clients. Interviewing leaders, conducting research and analysis, testing programs, laughing. You’ll laugh a lot and have a lot of fun. And this is all done in a team-based setting where our entrepreneurial culture of freedom and responsibility empowers you to contribute from your first day.
What we’re looking for
Our Business Analyst positions are designed as entry-level graduate roles where we would look for some work experience of any nature and/or a relevant internship placement.
We’re also hiring at a Senior Business Analyst level, where we would be looking at a graduate plus proven experience in relevant post-graduate employment.
We’ve successfully hired candidates from a range of academic disciplines, but whatever you’d studied you’ll need to be able to demonstrate business and financial acumen. We are looking for analytically minded individuals. You’ll be curious, creative, collaborative and credible. You’ll bring a sense of confidence and professionalism and an interest in working with people in business.
You’ll be able to communicate effectively with everyone you meet and skilled in leveraging a variety of communication channels, especially those requiring digital architecture. A desire and ability to present to a room that might have 100+ smart, eager people in it is a must – whether virtually or in person.
You’ll hold a good degree and be willing to travel as indicated above.
Please be aware that in order to qualify for our Business Analyst position in Amsterdam you MUST be fluent in Dutch as well as English.
