Hi everyone!

My name is Sterre Woelders and I am the Chairwoman of the 75th board of Aureus. I am 21 years old and last year I finished my bachelor Business Administration with a specialization in Transport and Supply Chain Management, here at the VU. I got in touch with Aureus during my first year of study. That was still during Covid and I was still living at home so I didn’t see the point of joining Aureus then. When I look back at that, I really regret that, because I had so much fun at Aureus in the years after. 

In my second year of my studies I decided to join Aureus as my friends were excited about it already. I started as Chair of the Blog committee, which has now been changed to Content committee. The year after that I became the Chair of the Marketing Team. We were responsible for guiding all the other committees with their marketing and promotion planning. I learned a lot from these experiences as a chair and wanted to broaden my horizons even more and gain more experience here at Aureus. 

Looking back at the years I have already had at Aureus, one of the highlights definitely was the skiing trip to Risoul two years ago. Even though it was my first time going on wintersport, I had the time of my life. This year I am definitely joining the Wintersport trip! Another highlight was the European Study Trip to Prague last year. Those trips are always my favorite weeks of the year. I am looking forward to all of these fun weeks in the upcoming year.

Doing a board year has been on my mind for quite some time. After having some coffees and gaining a bit more information about it, the choice of what to do after my bachelor Business Administration was quite easy to make: a board year was what I was going for. I was very happy when I heard that I was selected to be in the board, and even more happy to hear that I was appointed the position of Chair. 

As the Chair I am responsible for the coordination of the board. Besides that, I focus on the long term vision and strategy of Aureus. I am in contact with important stakeholders of ours, like the faculty board of the SBE and other study associations.
