Selection Procedure

Apply for the 76th Board!

Phase 1

The first step of the selection procedure is submitting your application before the deadline of April 8th, 2024, 23:59 to [email protected]. Please include the following documents in your application, in the language of your choice (Dutch or English):

  • CV
  • Study plan (how and when are you planning to complete your studies? Do you need to follow courses during the study year 2024/2025?)
  • Answer these five questions below in your own way of choice (video, pitch, powerpoint, word document, etc.)
  • Who are you?
  • Why do you want to do a board year?
  • What makes you unique?
  • What do you think when you hear the word Aureus?
  • What is your dream?
Phase 2

After applying you will be invited to take some personality tests before we meet for your first interview. In order to gain a better understanding of who you are and what drives you.

The first interview will focus on your personality, motivation, general competencies and your role within a team. The interview will last approximately 1,5 hours and will be conducted by two members of the Selection Committee. The results of the personality tests will be discussed, as well as your CV.

Phase 3

The second interview will focus on your strategic skills and competencies related to running the association. You will be asked to pitch an idea that you would like to implement within the association. Also, you will be asked to complete two cases related to matters that could take place during a board year. These cases need to be completed and returned to the selection committee ultimately two days before the second interview.

Phase 4

The last phase of course includes the most nerving phase of all, waiting for your result! In the week of the 20th of May, you will be called by the Selection Committee with the outcome of the selection procedure. The announcement of the new board to the association will take place on the 31st of May. From the 3rd of June, you are expected to be available for the transition period. During the month of June both the current, as well as the new board will be expected to be available. This month will be a transfer month, whereby the current board will transfer their knowledge to the newly installed board. During this month you are expected to be available for all events, which will mostly be during the evening, and for transfer sessions during the day. From the 1st of July onwards, the current board will retire, and the new board will be responsible for the daily operations of Aureus for a period of 12 months. During the summer you have the ability to take up approximately two weeks of vacation.
