Selection Committee 2022-2023
Sara Bijl ● Marketing Officer 2020-2021

Hey!
My name is Sara and I was the Marketing Officer for the 72nd Board of Aureus. My board year was a little different than usual (due to COVID restrictions all year), but nevertheless, one of the better years of my student career. During our board year, there was a perfect mix of project management and operational and strategic tasks. The skills and self-development during this year really helped me to figure out what I wanted to do after the board year as well as be able to identify my strengths and weaknesses. This allows you to create a strong basis for your possible future endeavours.
Apart from the professional experience you will gain, there are also plenty of opportunities to create fun memories during the parties and social activities! And of course the friendships that you create during this year will last you a lifetime! As you might have guessed, I would recommend a board year to everyone! It’s the perfect combination of work and fun, and it’s an experience that you will never forget!

Max Cristina • Chairman 2022-2023

Hi guys!
My name is Max Cristina, and I am the chairman of the 74th board of Aureus. After finishing the bachelor International Business Administration, I decided to apply for a board year which I do not regret at all! In my free time I like to go to the gym and hang out with my friends in the beautiful city of Amsterdam.
Doing a board year can be considered a unique experience to gain practical experience of leading one of the largest study associations in the Netherlands. Being responsible for an association with over 6500 members will lead to many challenges and hiccups which requires creative and strategic thinking. The mix of social, career and academic events makes a day in the life of a board member never boring and challenges you to organize a diverse set of events! Furthermore, doing a board year will help develop multiple skills like managing committees, strategic thinking, planning, and organizing.
I know that contemplating whether or not doing a board year can be rather difficult as I have been in your position myself. Therefore, I would like to tell you all about my own experiences as a full time board member!
